Weeding Project

Aside from my archives practicum, the one project that really stuck with me the most was the weeding project that was part of the LIS 605 class. Up until that point, I had never genuinely considered the necessity or enormity of such a project. I spent much more time on it than I probably should have, but it is one of the projects I am proudest of.
Each of these files is in Excel format, and are available for download.
Book v1
This was the first run through of the section I chose to work on, which covered the tail end of illustration (art), and all of adult comics. ISBNs and physical
issues were documented in this version
Book v2
This introduced the call numbers for each book, as well as missing ISBNs
Book v3
Date the book was added to the system, YTD circulations, LYTD circulations, Total checkouts, total renewals, and Year last checked in
Book v4
Colors! Lots of colors! This was the working spreadsheet that the final decisions were made from. The yellow cells on the right were flags to help in decision making, while the different hues set the determination of what was to stay on the shelf, and what was ready to go.
Weeded Books
This was the final list of books to be removed from the shelf, along with 10 new titles as replacements. Each title had a circulation percentage and reason for removal.
